Felt
Few things in today’s marketplace are purely and truly hand made. But our felt treasures are made using the simple technique- molding the wool to with ‘Bare Hand’ using warm water and soap a particular shape and size constantly pressing. Researchers believe that felt is one of the earliest textile forms. It is an important part of folk tradition that has developed into an artform.
In Nepal, felting was traditionally done by the people in the Himalayan region with yak’s wool to make jackets and blankets which were warm enough to protect from the bitter cold of these areas. ACP has revived this same technique to make fashion wear and accessories like caps, hats, shoes, bags, floor mats, and slippers. Each product reflects the hard work and imagination of our artisans making each product unique.
